Dear Member

The Crabbet Organisation is delighted to confirm that the next UK Crabbet Convention will be going ahead on 20th to 21st July 2013, at Addington Manor, Buckinghamshire. We have chosen this venue for its central location, accessibility, and top class equestrian facilities. The convention aims to celebrate the quality, achievements and heritage of the Crabbet descended Arabian.

The Committee welcomes owners of Pure Bred Arabian horses who carry 75% and above of Crabbet blood to put forward their horses for the parade. Horses will be exhibited in bloodline groups. We would also be delighted to hear from anyone able to volunteer their horse to contribute to special displays based on ridden performance in a variety of disciplines.

We expect to have room for 80-100 horses for the parade. We hope to include as many of our wonderful Crabbet horses as possible. The final selection of horses will be based on a number of criteria including bloodline representation, quality, and achievements.

We would like to have a special display this time of Anglo or Part-bred Arabs of Crabbet descent if there is sufficient interest. Please let us know if you would be interested in nominating a horse for this section.

We expect to issue formal invitations early in 2012. In the meantime, the Committee welcomes early expressions of interest to assist with our planning.

CRABBET CONVENTION 2013 and STUD TOUR

We are thrilled to announce that the next Crabbet Convention will take place on Saturday and Sunday 20th and 21st July, 2013. There will also be an absolute must optional day tour on Friday 19th July. The Convention Hotel will be the Best Western Buckingham Hotel with other accomodation available close by at competitive rates. The horse venue booked is Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Buckinghamshire. The Parade, displays, and trade stands will take place there. There will be many social events where people can get together and talk. This is a wonderful way to meet people from around the world who share a common interest in Crabbet Arabians.

The Committee will be asking people to support the event in various ways, including becoming Gold, Silver and Bronze supporters. Forms to support the Event are enclosed with this Journal. Two Committees have been formed, The Catalogue Committee with Becky Ross as Chairperson and the Events Committee with Susan Hawes as Chairperson. After the event, various studs will open up their studs to welcome visitors. A full detailed tour list will be available nearer the time. If you wish to open your stud to visitors after the Convention either in between the National Show or after the National Show, please contact Caroline Sussex.
